I had it re-corked and re-padded and the instrument actually plays nicely.The front of the clarinet will be facing up, and the palm of the hand will be gently cradling the back of the joint just below the register key. Then curve the fingers around the front of the joint and press the keys so that the bridge mechanism opens or lifts.
